About Us

We're a group of musicians and composers who try to tell the story of humanity's experience of faith, using poetry and music.  We write about the life of faith as a life lived in constant tension between presence and absence; light and darkness; incomprehensible joy and deep sorrow.  Faith is also something where we can feel lost a lot of the time -- the comforts of old idols pass by the wayside, and we're called to carry a new cross every day, plunging into an abyss without a light and hoping that everything turns out the way it should.  Nicholas of Cusa described the experience by saying that God is, "an infinite sphere whose center is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere."  So, if we're going to do this right -- if we're going to write about faith as an experience of being caught between two seemingly opposite things, if we're going to write about faith as an entrance into an abyss -- then we figure that we need to set out into something unknown.  And so we've given ourselves 6 weeks to write and rehearse all the music.  And then we're going to go out on tour and we're going to record.  And we're going to see what happens.  And we're going to hope that the story we tell rings true.

We'd like you to come along with us for the ride.  We'll be blogging about the experience, and we'll be playing music in some different cities.  Join us in the abyss.  Oh yeah, and since this is a page about who all of us are...

Christina Smith
Christina is a rising senior in Boston University's College of Fine Arts studying Music Performance with a concentration in Voice, desperately awaiting her graduation. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, singing Christmas songs, and shameless self promotion on her Instagram and Bandcamp.

Michael Enwright
Michael Enwright is a Boston-based person who enjoys playing, writing, and writing about music. He especially enjoys pop music, the Red Sox, and medieval art.

Danny Miller
Danny Miller is a cool kid, who has been playing piano almost since he was born.

Eli Roberts
Eli is a GB musician and music teacher and composer in Boston.  He writes mostly vaudeville, such as MOGO.  He Graduated from Berklee at the same time as Nik, who showed him how you're supposed to wear the little cap.

Nik Rodewald
Nik is a seminarian with the Society of Mary (Marists), currently living in Washington, DC.  He writes music that is usually sung (even though he's a sax player), and often about God and faith.  You can check out his debut album, To the Immaculate Virgin (On a Winter's Night) on Bandcamp.  He also runs, hikes up mountains, and rants about philosophy.  His biggest accomplishment is showing Eli how to wear the little cap at graduation.

Asa Spring
Asa is a lot of things but mostly a musician living in Boston, MA. His current musical endeavors include playing the part of Moses VIII in Eli's musical story MOGO and playing drums for the very theatrical art punk band Rogozo. When he's not making music, maybe he's printing t-shirts, hanging out with the homeless folks in Boston, or being an IT person.
